Why Though?

Compulsory questions.

Do you enjoy buying things you didn’t plan to buy then staying up all night wondering why you did it?

No? We neither.

To avoid that kind of stress, we ask ourselves some questions before we buy anything on impulse. They could help you too.

1. The ‘what’ question.

Impulse buying is often about the mood you’re in, so when you’re in the mood to shop, ask yourself what you really need and what you can afford. You must answer honestly.

If it helps, open your Kuda app, check your account balance, check your budget then act based on your financial reality.

2. The ‘why’ question.

Why do you want to shop at this time?

If, for example, you want to shop because buying something will make you happy, consider doing something else you enjoy.

We know shopping is easy and it’s not always convenient to make an extra effort to find something else to do but please try (to ignore Instagram and shopping discounts).

3. The ‘when’ question.

You might actually need what you want to buy but do you need it right now?

Look at the calendar — do you have enough money to last you until you get paid again?

Some things are important but not urgent and knowing the difference could help your finances a lot.

Take care. 💜
